Sponsored by ADC and supported by the Ministry of Culture in Luxembourg, this is the second artist-in-residence opportunity offered through MOWA exclusively for Wisconsin artists. The first was offered to photographer Lois Bielefield in 2015.

The residency will start on January 15, 2018. Details and the application are available online at wisconsinart.org/LuxembourgProgram.

The deadline to apply is December 17, 2017 by 11:59 p.m.
Artist selection will be announced by Friday, December 22, 2017

Housing, travel, and a monthly stipend for two months are included in the residency. The artist will work with a group of other artists from around the world, and will have the opportunity to work and make connections in Europe.

“MOWA is proud to be able to offer this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to Wisconsin artists,” said Laurie Winters, MOWA Executive Director | CEO. “We are grateful to ADC for sponsoring the Emerging Artist-in-Residence Program in Luxembourg. The program was conceived as a way of helping introduce Wisconsin artists to the international art scene. This is yet another example of how MOWA is focused on creating a hub of opportunities for Wisconsin artists.”

The program is open to artists age 18 and older working in any medium who either live in Wisconsin currently or have had transformational art experiences in Wisconsin that link them to the state in a significant and recognizable way. Preference will be given to up-and-coming emerging artists.

The application form along with complete details for submission can be found at wisconsinart.org/LuxembourgProgram. Final selection will be based on the quality of the artist’s work, potential impact of the residency on the artist, and the artist’s ability to work effectively in an international setting.
