Wisconsin assemblage artist Gary John Gresl and editor and designer Rosie Hartmann will discuss Gresl’s new book Palimpsests and Middens: A Midwest Assembler showcasing 40 years of Gresl’s art. Book signing will follow.

University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee Assistant Professor Derek Schaefer, Ph.D., will discuss German fairy tales and their enduring legacy through the classic nineteenth-century works collected by the Brothers Grimm. Schaefer will explore their uses (and misuses) as vehicles of political and social expression.
