TWSA / Transparent Watercolor Society of America formerly Midwest Watercolor Society

1977, the Midwest Watercolor Society was organized and their first annual meeting was held on August 6, 1977 at the Tweed Museum of Art, Duluth, MN.
2003, the Midwest Watercolor Society had grown to a national status and changed its name to the Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA) and went from 185 members the first year to well over 1000 members.
Its purpose has been to advance the stature and foster appreciation of transparent watercolor as a major medium.
