Biographical Brief
Nephew of Italian-American, Wisconsin artist Gaetano Busalacchi.
Korean War veteran, US Navy (submarines).
Work Experience:
Taught history and humanities at High School and college level.
2000: began experimenting in three-dimensional art creating mobiles, assemblages, collages, jewelry, painting and photography.
Artwork/Exhibitions:
Featured in Milwaukee and Door County art galleries including: Uihlein -Peters Gallery, Milwaukee, The Flying Pig, Algoma, The John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Sheboygan, Dovetail Gallery, Egg Harbor, Charlene's Gallery Ten, Ellison Bay, Universalist Gallery and the Paint Box Gallery, Ephraim.
Affiliations:
Served on the boards of the Milwaukee School Board and the Whitefish Bay School Board for many years.
First President of the Milwaukee Opera company
2010: Currently serves on the board of directors of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.
Late 1960s: the Bucalacchis hosted the first color series program on PBS, Channel 10/36, "Cultura" that discussed art and music.
