Biographical Brief

Circa 1936: moved to Chicago with her mother.
2000: "Marion Coffey, Views of Tuscany & Umbria," at Tory Folliard Gallery, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 2006: represented by Tory Folliard Gallery.
2004: traveled to Africa and her paintings were inspired by a zebra and the Maasai people.
Over the years, donated many paintings to help many causes such as the Penfield Children's Center, Hunger task Force and Boerner Botanical Gardens.
2011: married 62 years to federal Judge John Coffey.

Work Experience:
1940s: commercial illustrator, Chicago, Illinois (Michigan Ave. studio where she was the first female illustrator to work at that company. Some of her clients were from Coca-Cola, Sears, RCA and Motorola)
Circa mid-1940s: returned to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and continued to work as a commercial illustrator.
Over the years she began to develop her won style as a full-time painter of rural landscapes, urban cityscapes of Milwaukee and portraits of people's homes.
