Biographical Brief

Currently a Milwaukee artist, native born - Memphis, TN.
Williams-Ng (pronounced “Ung”) was a partner and Creative Director in a Chicago design firm before switching to her full-time practice of fine art.
Co-founded a multimedia design agency "Method Engine in Chicago for 15 years.  
Studied: Univ. of Memphis, double major in fine Art (Graphic Design) and French Language & Literature. 
             Studied in France and full time instructor at LaSalle College of Fine Arts. 
Well traveled throughout Southeast Asia. 
Career dates: 1995 - present
Pursued part of her fine art studies in France, where she met her husband, a Singapore native. The couple later lived in Singapore for several years before arriving in Milwaukee with their two children.
2005, settled in Milwaukee, WI area
2007, began to pursue painting full time

Nearly fifteen years of graphic design  strongly influenced the formal qualities of her painting compositions, as strongly as her travel and life experiences mark her subject matter.
Paintings, mostly executed in oil on canvas, are very painterly and predominantly feature figures such as children, dancers and other colorful characters, including narrative imagery relating to her Southern childhood. Recent work includes gestural paintings of dancers in the Milwaukee ballet, a series which she has written about in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Writing & Teaching
Stacey is a frequent arts writer for Milwaukee publications such as the Journal-Sentinel and Milwaukee Home & Fine Living magazine. She is also a faculty member at the Museum of Wisconsin Art, where she teaches classical approaches to drawing and painting the figure, and drapery. She is a former full-time lecturer at the LaSalle College of Fine Arts in Singapore, and a former adjunct instructor at MIAD in Milwaukee.

2010, March-April, Mary Nohl “Outreach” Grant 2009, Golda Meir School. Residency in portraiture in which middle-school students created a large permanent installation for the school campus.
2009-2011, Artist-in-Residence, RedLine Milwaukee. Juried in among first cohort of Emerging Artists,
