Milwaukee artist Gabrielle Tesfaye transformed the museum into a large-scale outdoor art installation using animated video projection—capturing the floral notes of Bloomin' Holidays combined with inspiration from her multicultural heritage.
Tesfaye is an interdisciplinary artist whose art and globe-trotting
lifestyle demonstrates her own multicultural experience as the daughter
of an Ethiopian father and mixed-heritage Jamaican mother. She blends
elements of the African diaspora, Afro-futurism, and ancient puppetry
practices to spin tales about identity and belonging that have won her
international acclaim in publications such as Vogue.
