Become a Zinester - Virtual Workshop

In celebration of the Wisconsin Funnies exhibit, Milwaukee Zine Fest (MZF) is here to teach you how to make your own zines!  Learn more about these self-published magazines, an easy way to make them, and how comics and zines work together. This is a hands-on virtual workshop via Zoom. Each participant will create a page for a group comic zine that MZF will collect digitally and compile into a collaborative final product.  No special technology or supplies required, though we'll provide a recommended supply list in advance.

CANCELED - Comics with Pizzazz
Thursday, August 13 | 2:30 - 7:30

Explore how to turn your idea into a comic. Tom Wallestad, art professor at Marian University and comic enthusiast, leads this unique workshop with a focus on character development. Learn new techniques in drawing, lettering, design, and storytelling to create a powerful comic cover. Break for a slice of pizza over a group sharing exercise in this fun session. All supplies included.
