From Aquaman to Zorro: A Conversation with Cartoonist Peter Poplaski

Join MOWA's Associate Curator of Contemporary Art J Tyler Friedman and cartoonist Peter Poplaski for a live streamed talk on art, life, and comic characters.

Poplaski started his comics career in the underground comix scene in the early 1970s and now divides his time between the United States and France. Poplaski's work can be seen as part of MOWA's Wisconsin Funnies: Fifty Years of Comics exhibition on view through January 3, 2021.

Join children's author Barbara Joosse as she discusses her research and writing process, then gives a special New Year's Eve reading of "Lulu & Rocky in Milwaukee" for those of you cuddled up at home between the holidays. Q&A to follow!

Barbara Joosse is a Wisconsin-based children's author who writes for 'the silly, smart, thoughtful, worried kids who live in the real world'. She has published 38 books, which have been translated into over 25 languages.
