About the Exhibition

September 26–January 17

Hyde Gallery

Fred Stonehouse’s caricature-cum-dreamscapes are simultaneously maudlin, whimsical, and surreal.

He is one of Wisconsin’s most active and successful artists, with exhibitions in galleries from New York to Los Angeles and Berlin to Milan. Many recent works are based around the state’s Horicon Marsh, but others are rooted in wild dreams and half-remembered visions that encompass all manner of disparate people, places, artwork, literature, and experiences.
