Paths to Home: A Trilogy of Films by Emir Cakaroz
Thursday, November 21 | 7:00–9:00

Event Location: MOWA | DTN, Saint Kate—The Arts Hotel, Arch Theater, 139 E Kilbourn Ave, Milwaukee
Join filmmaker Emir Cakaroz for a screening of a trilogy of films investigating his family's past and present. Using different cinematic styles, the trilogy explores different moments in his family history. "Two Photographs" tells the story of the early struggles of his Turkish father and mother. After three years of being in the United States, Emir returned to Turkey to shoot "Revza," which follows his mother as she goes about her day-to-day life. The newly-completed "Dad's Apple" will receive its world premiere. Based on Cakaroz's memories of his father's final illness and death, in the final film of the trilogy Cakaroz casts himself as his father and his son as himself as a child.
