MOWA’s impressive collection spans more than two hundred years of artistic expression.

In the last decade alone, transformational acquisitions and gifts have doubled MOWA’s collection to over five thousand artworks in all historical and contemporary media; work from under-represented communities is currently a priority. All proposed gifts must be recommended by the curatorial staff and approved by the executive director.

Artwork Appraisals

People often ask the Museum of Wisconsin Art to evaluate works of art. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, law prohibits us from providing professional appraisals. We recommend you contact a professional appraiser in your area.
