Popelka’s career is peppered with distinction and interactions with leading individuals and institutions associated with his chosen medium, glass. The list includes Marvin Lipofsky, Joel Philip Myers, Jamie Carpenter, Erwin Eisch; The Pilchuck School, The Corning Museum School, The California College of Arts & Crafts, Oxbow School of Art, and more. Popelka conducts workshops and seminars, often with his wife, Stephanie Trenchard; the two run Popelka Trenchard Glass, a hot glass studio in Green Bay. Popelka is proficient in numerous glass techniques, notably sand-casting, glass-blowing, and murrini, and has participated in many international exhibitions.
