Hard Edge Painting 101
Hard Edge Painting 101
Saturday, March 30 | 10:00–1:00
The term ‘hard-edge painting’ was coined in California in 1959 to describe abstract artwork that reacted to painterly and gestural works by using non-figural geometry and lines in applying color blocks to a canvas. Exhibiting Biennial artist Tony Conrad will teach the basics of this geometric art form including how to choose purposeful color combinations and dynamic shapes and patterns when painting.
