Plein Air: Capturing the Landscape
Plein Air: Capturing the Landscape
Lydia Zoells
Learn to paint in the Impressionist style in MOWA’s garden, capturing a scene while working directly from observation. This beginner-to-intermediate plein air workshop draws on the lessons of the Impressionists, exploring techniques such as warm/cool contrast, broken color, fluid brushwork, and creative composition. Working in acrylics, students will observe the landscape firsthand with Madison-based artist Lydia Zoells as their guide.
• Please dress appropriately, as the class begins in the studio and includes two hours outdoors.
