Studio Class | Introduction to Cyanotype
Saturday, August 26 | 10:00–1:00
The cyanotype is a nineteenth-century photographic printing process that uses UV light and an iron compound solution to create vibrant blue images.
Create original cyanotypes, or sunprints, in this hands-on, introductory workshop guided by photographers Lindsay Lochman and Barbara Ciurej. You will learn about the history of the process, materials, and techniques, and the art of developing with sunlight or UV exposure unit. Participants will use flowers, found objects, and negatives as their subject matter.
All printing equipment will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring photo negatives, flat objects, or botanicals.
