Pabst. Schlitz. Blatz. Miller—name brands synonymous with Wisconsin and the booming beer industry at the turn of the twentieth century.

Prior to Prohibition, the beer industry spread throughout the state. In 1892, Milwaukee’s claims of being the best gave rise to iconic images of early American pop culture, elaborate signage, and unforgettable slogans.
