About Art Bridges

MOWA continues an ongoing partnership with Art Bridges, a foundation established by Alice Walton in conjunction with the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, AR. In an effort to expand access to American art, Art Bridges provides loans from its growing permanent collection to participating institutions, along with financial support for initiatives that connect local audiences and communities.

 

Raised in Wisconsin and educated at UW–Madison, Bruce Nauman’s 62-minute video, No, No, New Museum, was initially shown at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City. Presenting a jester wearing red and green regalia, the figure repeatedly—and aggressively—jumps up and down while shouting “no, no, no, no…!” The result is a visually dynamic and disturbingly auditory experience designed to provoke discomfort.
