About the Exhibition

April 25–July 27

State Gallery

Last autumn, MOWA asked the members of the Milwaukee-based Coalition of Photographic Arts (CoPA) to focus their lenses on their neighbors.

Nineteen photographers zeroed in on personal environments, intimate relationships, and community interactions. Whether depicting special events and people or folks simply going about their daily lives, these photographs offer a glimpse of Milwaukee’s many neighborhoods. Founded in 2004, CoPA currently has two hundred members that include artists, students, professionals, amateurs, enthusiasts, and collectors.
