Active military specialist and photographer Corey Fells grew up in heavily segregated Milwaukee.
Inspired by his late mother, Fells determined to celebrate diversity, resilience, and womanhood by documenting one hundred minority millennials from across the city. By photographing each person in front of the same ivy-covered wall, he established visual continuity as a metaphor for the shared experience underlying each unique individual.
