About the Exhibition

On view at Saint John's on the Lake

Francisco X. Mora creates paintings for the child in all of us. There is an emphasis on storytelling throughout his work. The paintings are playful and whimsical, yet simultaneously personal and self-reflective with an occasional note of melancholy. Francisco also draws inspiration from Mexico’s long folk art tradition of mask-making for ceremonial dances and rituals.
