About the Exhibition

June 11–October 8

MOWA | West Bend

One of Milwaukee’s most notable and creative visionaries was not a painter, sculptor, printmaker, or photographer, but a children’s clothing designer. In 1945, Florence Eiseman launched what would become the leading high-end children’s clothing line in the United States, and was instrumental in fashioning the standard look for the postwar American child. More than one hundred garments, photographs, and objects document the celebrated and ongoing design history.
