One hundred twenty organizations across the Midwest have received a total of $300,000 through the GIG Fund, a grant program from Arts Midwest. These awards support creative projects and educational events, helping organizations present artists in their community and offset the costs of programming and touring. The Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) along with eleven other Wisconsin arts and culture organizations received GIG Fund grants in this round for projects taking place between July 1 and December 31, 2022.
With its funds, MOWA will showcase an authentic tribal performance of the Bear Clan Singers & Dancers on Saturday, July 23 at 1:00 in the MOWA Gardens prior to the opening of two exhibitions—Tom Jones: Here We Stand and Tom Antell: Strange Lands. This performance will take place outside in the MOWA Gardens and is free to the community to attend.
