(Milwaukee, WI) Museum of Wisconsin Art is delighted to announce an engaging panel discussion at Saint Kate—The Arts Hotel, bringing together acclaimed artists Lon Michels (he/him) and Vaughan Larsen (they/them) for an insightful conversation on artistic practices that comment on non-binary identity. The event will take place at The Arc on Thursday, December 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
The panel discussion will feature two distinguished artists whose work contributes significantly to the discourse surrounding queer identity. Moderating the conversation will be Krista Grensavitch, professor of women’s and gender studies at UW—Milwaukee, and Imani Sloan, activist and PrEP Program Supervisor at Vivent Health. The event will delve into the evolving landscape of public and generational attitudes toward gender non-conforming individuals and the exploration of personal expression through art.
The panelists will explore a range of thought-provoking topics, including artistic practices that comment on non-binary identity, changing public and generational attitudes toward non-conforming individuals, and the role of personal expression in the contemporary art landscape.
