2024 SPARK! CREATIVE ENGAGEMENT CONFERENCE

November 11 & 12

The 2024 SPARK! Creative Engagement Conference is an in-person event that will provide training for existing SPARK! organizations and anyone looking to bring SPARK! to your community. This conference will address how to start a new SPARK! program from conception to implementation and inspire existing program facilitators/volunteers.

Attendees will learn how to successfully immerse SPARK! participants in creative engagement activities including poetry, art making, storytelling, and more. Sessions will include brain health, best practices, program logistics, and activity ideas. Sessions will be repeated so there will be multiple opportunities for participation. Attending the conference provides the required training to start a SPARK! program in your community.

In 2009, the Museum of Wisconsin Art was among the first cultural institutions in Wisconsin to create the SPARK! Alliance. Since that time, MOWA has continued to provide art-based programming for those in our community who are living with memory loss and their families and care partners. Our SPARK! events are interactive and incorporate creative sensory engagement with the arts in areas such as music, dance, visual arts, nature, and poetry.
